What kind of shoes go best with knee-high socks?

I have a couple of pairs of knee-high socks, but I never know what kind of shoes to wear with them.

I know that saddle shoes and mary janes would go with them, but I don’t want to look too much like a schoolgirl.
What other styles of shoe work?

oooohhh, flats is a goood idea i wwish i had thought of that. you can get flats with those sequins and flare and stuff on them and that does NOT look scool girly. i have them but only under jeans on reallly cold days i know peple that wear skirts and realllllly high ones up to the skirt hem and wear teni soes with them and it loooks SUPER UNBELEIVABLY TACKY.

oh i have thes cute gel boots(like rain boots) that are checkered colors of lt. green, lt. browns, and yellow. They are sweet kicks. I wear them with my knee highs that are stripe. Those with a sweet little cami shirt and skirt, maybe a lt. jacket or long sleeve shirt.

loafers or penny loafers are not as school girlish! Loafers go well with a skirt or pleated skirt and the knee highs with a button shirt or tee with a blazer or sweater/pull over or cardigan. Have fun with your fasion while you are young. I did and I am glad I did. Now I can’t wear all of the fasions and cute shoes due to crippling arthritis that I got at 18. Best wishes!

You don’t want to wear Maryjanes with them you will look way to “Private School” you should try a cute pair of Round Toe Kitten Heels. They have some really nice tweed ones at Target or you can find some nice ones at Chick by Niki Hilton.com Another cute type of shoe that isn’t quite as high are Ankle Length Boots and they come in every color to match the socks.I honestly prefer footless leggings though because knee highs look a little bit second grade.
